Last weekend, my mother-in-law came up to watch the kids so my husband and I could help out with a Youth Event at our church. But before I went to the church, I needed to make a quick grocery store run.
I hopped in my van and started driving. I live at the intersection of interstate 70 and 170. To get to church, I take 170. To get to the grocery store, I take 70. Well, I got on the wrong interstate by habit.
As I realized it, I purposely passed the exit I would usually take to church, reached down to grab my phone (GPS), but trying to figure out how I could fix this. Then when I looked up I saw an exit sign to get me on the right interstate in the right direction.
All I had to do was look up.
My natural reaction was to look inward. How can I fix this? What new route can I easily take? Where is my GPS?
When all I needed to do was look up. The answer was literally right in front of me.
I wish my natural reaction was to look up. It would save me a lot of heartache!
I think this happens to people all the time. They take the wrong way in life. They convince themselves they are too far gone. They try to make themselves better. But all they need to do is look up.
Pray.
Let Him show you the way!
The way of truth.
The way of love.
The way of peace that surpasses all understanding.
His ways are higher. His ways are greater!
Look up!
